Christmas Campaign 2017

Firstly, we would like to say the most massive thank you to everyone who donated to our Christmas shoe box appeal. We were absolutely inundated; receiving a HUGE 37 boxes, along with stuff to create three massive hampers for women and children. We would like to thank all of the individuals who contacted us to donate, but also Caring Lady Funeral Directors and Meridian Short Mat Bowls Club who did collections for us.

Now- who your donations helped:

We split the donations equally between Safe In Sussex women’s refuge and My Sisters’ House women’s centre. They were eternally grateful and these have gone towards giving children and mothers Christmas gifts when they might not have got any, as well as taking care of person hygiene needs of women and children in poverty- be them fleeing abuse or street homeless.

Although our Christmas campaign is now over, we are establishing working relationships with these institutions and will continue to donate to them throughout the year.

In early January we have a couple of meetings with leading supermarkets to discuss our taking of slightly imperfect or surplus stock, which we can then further donate on if talks are successful. This helps the environment in terms of recycling and makes a huge social change- for example women who cannot afford sanitary items will have some donated to them so that they can keep their dignity.

We thank you for your continued support and remind you that if you need any legal advice regarding domestic abuse, please do e-mail in to us at info@thedaisychainproject.com

We wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
